  3. Carnival Splendor
This was our 7th cruise on Carnival and we don't feel Splendor measures up to the other ships we have been on. We had more trouble getting around on this ship. More detours, less direct paths. Embarkation - Although we arrived at our assigned time, it took about 1.5 hours from the time we reached the port until we were on the ship. 15 minutes to be processed, an hour of sitting and then 15 minutes to board the ship. Disembarkation - We carried our own luggage off the ship and it couldn't have gone better. We were called to the gangway early and there were no delays or waits to get off the ship. We were on the shuttle to our hotel by 7:45. Cabin - We chose a spa cabin for the first time and were happy with the services provided. The therapy pool and the relaxation rooms were worth the price. Our oceanview cabin was 1003 and was larger than the balcony rooms. Dining - Average as compared to the other ships we have been on. Slight menu variations, but good overall. Entertainment - We spend most of our time listening to the music acts. There was good variety, but the quality has been better on other ships and cruises. Ports and shore excursions - Grand Turk -The highlight of our trip was snorkeling in Grand Turk. We used Blue Water Divers and highly recommend them. We scheduled a two stop tour; a shallow stop and then to the Wall. There were three guides for 8 snorkelers. The weather was rough, so they dodged the rain and storms and still gave us a very good snorkeling experience. We did see a couple of large barracuda and a nurse shark. La Romana - We did not leave the port area. Spent most of the day on the ship. Curacao - Excellent snorkeling from the beach at Blue Bay Beach. The entry to the water is rocky. Aruba - Beach day at Palm Beach. Average beach with lots of services.

Good destinations and excursions.
