I recently cruised on the Carnival Liberty. I was really excited about it considering we sailed on the Carnival Freedom and the ships are virtually identical. But that is where it stops, everything was so different. The customer service on the Liberty is not up to par. Starting with the dining room, where we were seated at 600p and we were lucky if are order was taken within a half hour. Others were being served and we were still sitting there. No time management by the wait staff when it came to picking up the meal orders. Food was cold and the staff did not come around an offer coffee. Also the wine steward took an order but never reappeared with the wine. When inquired about where they were, the wait staff said she had the flu and went to the medical center but would return. Hello, the person is sick and should not be waiting on customers.

Food was consistently cold on the buffet even when it was brought right from the kitchen. I could understand what they were doing with this food. You were only guaranteed hot food if you went to the made to order stations such as the Mongolian wok, omelet station, and pizza. The drink waiters were either incompetent or surly. One waiter took our order and never came back. We had to go looking for this person. If you went to the bar, the staff acted indifferent. The only bright light to this cruise was the cabin steward, who was so sweet and attentive. Our room was clean, our cooler bag was filled with ice always. The shows were mediocre at best. The comedian was funny.

I was very disappointed with this cruise and I have never had a bad experience with carnival. I just wanted hot food, cleanliness and good customer service. People say that its not fair to take tips off your bill, well I am going to consider it next time because I will not tip for poor service and cold food. Yes these people working behind the scenes but they are not doing a good job. I know the ship is going into dry dock in December let hope the new staff does a better job when she returns.
