We did the Mediteranian tour from Savona-Marseilles-Barcelone-Mallorca-Rome and La Spezia
Marseilles is a dump, I do not understand why it's part of any cruise, it's a city which seems to be falling apart, don't go there, only the old city centre is worth a visit.
La Spezia was a pleasent surprise, visit the Cinque Terre if you go there.
The ship is new, from 2014, everything seems to work fine, the style is Las Vegas bling.
The crew is very helpful and serviceminded, however, the service-desk is a bit arrogant and it's like they don't listing to what you have to say.
We didn't do any of the Costa organized tours, but went on our own, that worked out fine.

I measured the noise to 90 dB in the cabin, and the floor was vibrating, it’s like they didn’t put any sound insulation between the floors.
Only good thing is that the shows stops at 24.00, and that it only runs if there are sufficient guest, however, it was nerv wrecking when it was running.
We tried to get another cabin, or get them to lower the volume, however, the Costa crew didn’t care about it, I think they considered os hysteric
A shame, since the cruise overall was good, however, there’s a lot of noise everywhere, music in the hallways etc., but you can live with that. However, I would like to warn you about the 4D cinema, the noise-level is insane.
Apart from that, there's a smoking-area right underneath the balcony, so if you enjoy sitting outside be prepared for some smoke, however, it's not that bad, but it's there.

Buy a BIRG ticket, which will give you access to buses and Metro in Rome. BIRG ticket only goes for local trains, not the faster InterCity. Tickets can only be bought at the railway station.
