We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and because we like the Solstice class of ships. All in all we enjoyed this cruise but for the first time had some problems. We had booked directly through Celebrity for the first time and until we got the final documents had no problems. I noticed upon receiving them that they had given us an impossible transfer but after informing them of this, and holding on the phone, it was corrected and a disaster averted.

The ship is gorgeous! It would be hard to imagine anything nicer. We met our friends from England and started our 12th or 13th cruise with them. We are Elite plus and enjoy the perks that come with it.

Our major and really only serious problem was with the long, long waits for a table for dinner. Every night we had to wait in a lounge with a beeper. I had made reservations months before but because I couldn't link them with our companions we had problems. They were in a suite and expected to use Luminae, so we had to deal with this. I honestly think that even if we had dined without them we would still have had long waits. We did come to the conclusion that maybe because the times of the evening shows were causing a problem. Anyway, this was annoying. The service in the dining room when we were finally seated was often very slow. A few times we weren't asked if we wanted coffee. The quality of the food was excellent, the service could have been handled better. We never had problems before so hopefully this was isolated and will be addressed.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2A

Cabin 2A

Our cabin was very nice and in an excellent location. We would book it again in a heartbeat.

Port Reviews

Cartagena (Spain)

It is a very pretty "walking around" port. Unfortunately, it was raining.

Ibiza

We all loved this port. We walked up to the top of the Castle and enjoyed the Old Town. I would like to go back there again.

Toulon

We loved this ships tour. The weather was great and the time in Sanary and Cassis and also at Notre Dame was lovely. Marcaisse is interesting but I wouldn't go back there again. The other stops made up for it though.

Palma de Mallorca (Majorca)

This is a great place to walk around. It is gorgeous with flower markets and lovely stores. The Cathedral is breathtaking.

Positano (Amalfi)

This, I believe, was the biggest and nicest surprise. We walked around town, enjoyed a lovely day. I wasn't expecting it to be as nice as it was. We have "done" the Amalfi Coast twice, were tired from the long flight the day before so it was a nice relaxing day. The shuttle was free which was appreciated.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

the plane landed, we got on the shuttle bus and arrived at the port in about an hour. We've been to Rome so didn't need to go there again.
