Independence of the Seas, 26th October 2016.
We turned up at the dock about 12:30, immediately shown where to park, using BCP has always been our first choice, right next to the ship and as soon as the car boot was popped open there was someone there to take the labelled suitcases to the ship, so that the next time we saw them they were in the stateroom.
The check in queues were quite long, so an advantage being a suite guest certainly helped. Mind you, a couple two ahead of us, where you have to show your Setsail pass, took an age to find their documents, and rather than put them to one side so those of us ready could pass, the chap tried to help them to find theirs, this took about 5 minutes and held up the queue quite a bit. Once that passed we went through security and to the check in desks. This is where assumptions should not be made. There were four of us in the party and with two men in one room and two women in the other the check in lady did not stop going on about not prejudging and that we must have made a mistake, this she must have mentioned 5 or 6 times, even to a colleague, beyond a joke really.
Very spacious, cabin, a waste having a bar where perhaps a table would be better. Nice having the longer balcony, also a big bathroom. The tv sound system had been updated with Bose speakers. We learned that the movies via te tv were free for suite guests.
Pre-arranged taxi to and from Honfleur. On time and pleasant. Gave tips for next time.
Pre-arranged taxi ride to and from Brugge. Both on time and pleasant drivers.
