I am a fan of Skagen wristwatches from Denmark. I was excited when I saw them displayed in the duty-free department, and planned to buy one on the discount night. The Royal Caribbean "duty-free" price was $185 less a 10% discount on sale day. The watch I wanted sells for $145 at Macy's in Portland, Maine all day, every day of the week. The Royal Caribbean price wasn't even "duty-free." What a joke and a waste of my time.
For a Canadian cruise, only Caribbean cocktails were served. The bars had no Bloody Caesars, and no Canadian beer even though we stopped in St. John, NB (home of Alpine and Moosehead beer), and Halifax, NS (home of Alexander Keith's ale). Neither the bars, nor the duty-free shop carried Newfoundland Screech rum, the greatest!
The ship docked at Pier 22 in Halifax, and passengers were not alerted to the juxtaposition of the Canadian Immigration Museum about 100 feet away at Pier 21. I guess Royal Caribbean couldn't figure out how to charge for a shore excursion to a site so close. Passengers missed a great opportunity to visit a wonderful exhibit.
Claustrophobic, but clean. Closet not large enough to store luggage along with the clothes you need to take out of the suitcases to hang up on hangers. Inadequate drawer space for a 7 day cruise.
Walked to the Canadian Immigration Museum and to the Alexander Keith's brewery for tours.
Bought some nice tourmaline jewelry, the Maine State Gemstone.
