We were excited when Disney decided to return to NYC. We had previously sailed on the Magic in 2012 to Canada from NYC. This was a very different cruise with 4 sea days, 1 day at Castaway Cay and 1 day at Port Canaveral (really at Walt Disney World).

The Magic was refurbished shortly after our cruise in 2012. The ship was well maintained and filled with Disney details. If you are a Disney fan, it's hard to not enjoy yourself on their ships. From the theming of the entire ship, Disney on-board shows, 10 Disney channels running non-stop movies, music playing around the ship, a movie theatre running first run Disney movies, Mickey Bars for dessert, etc, etc, etc.

Castaway Cay is a beautiful island. While they do have some premium offerings, they also offer lots of great activities with no charge. They even had an adults only private beach. The food was excellent and plentiful. Disney offers free soda and soft serve ice cream on the island as well as on-board.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin 09B

The cabin was very nice. The only down side was we were on Deck 2 and right below us must have been some mechanical room. There was a consistent noise. It wasn't too loud, but it was noticeable. Also, we like to use the stairs and going up 7 flights for a soda on Deck 9 was a bit exhausting. But it did help burn some calories ;-).

Port Reviews

New York (Manhattan)

Other than the very expensive parking ($40 per day), it is an awesome port.

Castaway Cay

Love this port!
