Good itinerary included 4 Hawaiin islands plus Ensenada in Mexico. Embarkation in LA very efficient - as was disembarkation at the end of the cruise. Highlights were the excursions we booked in the 4 Hawaiin islands - superb trips, well organised and good value. As for the ship, the balcony cabin was clean and comfortable and the cabin steward very efficient. The ship seemed well kept and clean, if a little tired in places. Excellent bar service in Crooners Bar - but the bar service on the open decks was poor at times. The really big let down was the buffet - the layout is poor, with 4 separate cramped buffets, and queueing was a constant frustration, due to the apparent unwillingness of the managers to open enough buffets quickly enough. This was particularly the case in the early evening, where the demand for the informal dinner buffet seemed to take the management by surprise. It shouldn't have done, as the menu for the main dining rooms looked pretty uninspiring. As for the buffet food, it was boring, unimaginative and repetitive - lentil and bacon soup 4 days running,, for example. The Crown Grill served a good meal in nice surroundings for a reasonable price. Just one other gripe - the art auctions - irritating announcements from irritating art spins selling what looked like pretty awful pictures. So all in all, a good cruise, visiting some great ports and great excursions. Come on Princess, sort out your buffet and you will be hard to beat.
Comfortable, clean and a very good cabin steward.
Surprisingly pleasant to walk round the town with good shopping and friendly shop keepers - not as aggressive as they are in Cozumel or Costa Maya.
