We love the Prinsendam. Sailed on it a few years ago in the Med Sea area. Like a smaller ship , as we would rock climb or ice skate...Capt Tim Roberts is an amazing Captain. He instills confidence yet shows a keen sense off humor. He kept us informed of different and interesting happenings like sighting polar bears on the shore, whales swimming nearby etc. Cruise Director Bruce shared so many interesting info about all his years serving in this capacity. Culinary Arts Host Donna has so much diversity from food programs to fun craft programs. The entertainers were great...such a good variety. We especially enjoyed Tian Jiang, Prinsendam Singers and Dancers, Lee Bradley, and Greta Salome. There were so many interesting and such a variety of programs. I especially enjoyed the Faberge Egg class.

We took three tours...the one in Bergan to the Stave Church and Grieg residence was great...enjoyed the concert at the home of Grieg. Beautiful city. The tour leader, a young girl originally from Italy did a super job of sharing so much info with us. The tour in Iceland to the geo thermal plant, geysers and waterfall likewise was led by a lady who shared so much good info. We especially enjoyed St Andrews and all the info of the area tour leader Olga Lawson gave uss....It was a gorgeous day, weatherwise and we all enjoyed walking through this historic town. Olga knows so much history. The accomodations were very comfortable and our cabin stewards, dining room attendants cheerfully took care of us very well.

My one suggestion is that a notation should be made in the book where food/drink room service is advertised. On precious cruises on Holland America, albeit a few years ago, there was no specific charge for this service. I saw no notation about a charge in the binder in our room, so we were somewhat surprised when charges for enjoying this service were on the bill. We could not dispute them and probably should have known to ask in advance, but when we had not been charged previously we did not think to ask. Had there been a notation, this surprise would not have occurred.
