We selected this cruise for its rich itinerary. It provides a glimpse into life along the Rhine and Moselle Rivers today and its history back to Roman times. The accommodations and service were good. Food was excellent; but portions at dinner were small. This was okay with us, but someone with a larger appetite, might be disappointed. Wine selections and quantity was more than adequate. The Cruise Director did a good job with arranging excursions, considering there were delays in getting through some of the locks.
Individual tour guides mostly did an excellent job. We especially liked the tour of the Black Forest with a taste of their special cherry cake. The tour of Sigfried's Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum was wonderful in Ruedesheim, along with a stop for their special Ruedesheimer coffee.
An onboard visit from a "wine farmer" from the Zell area provided a wonderful presentation about the wines from the Moselle region. We also enjoyed our tour in Kinderdijk and the Canal boat tour in Amsterdam.
compact, but adequate
