The ONLY reason this ships gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because we booked a cold cruise and in my opinion, the activities didn't change. They should have added more activities because of the lack of pool activities. This was our Canadian trip but my daughter and I took this ship out of the Mediterranean and it was fantastic. I have to say on BOTH trips however, the machine holding the coins needed for laundry were broken on my floor (different floors each time). Princess also does not give very good prizes for contests.

The positives - food was great, you cannot beat Princess for cheerful, helpful staff in all areas of the ship - dining room, stateroom, spa - they are the best. I found the Enclave this trip which has 2 steam rooms, a sauna and a huge hot tub - extra fee but made up for no pool (due to cold weather). The center of this ship is spectacular. There are many choices when it comes to snacking and shopping. The coffee is the BEST I have tasted on a ship. I got a latte at least once daily and it was consistently good (extra charge but cheaper than Starbucks and just as good). The musicians are very talented. My husband enjoyed the casino. We are not night people so can't speak about the clubs. The outdoor movie screen in good weather was fantastic. My daughter and I saw at least 3 movies there on the cushioned chairs with blankets and popcorn. Princess serves afternoon tea as well. Sabatinis - one of the best restaurants on any ship - Italian food and spectacular. The excursion we took this time was outstanding. St. John's full day tour and the price was not too high - included a light lunch.

So, bottom line, if you do not have kids (not the best kid-friendly ship, RCL or NCL better for that), want to be treated REALLY well, like a slow to medium paced ship, love good food, shows, etc. don't hesitate to book Princess. This ship is one of the better ones in their fleet.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BF

Not sure of the category. This cabin is in the back of the boat. The balcony is bigger than most. However, if you value your privacy, it is possible for people on the deck above in the common area there to look down onto this balcony. The room has a separate couch, you can see the TV from it. Bathroom is standard with that small shower everyone loves (just kidding but it is small). The shower has a curtain not a door so at least I didn't feel caged in. The laundromat coin machine on this floor was broken. The laundromat was not far from the cabin. It was a little bit of a pain to walk the full boat to get to the cabin at times. My knees aren't the best so don't think it would bother others. The buffet dining room was right upstairs so that was a plus. You had to walk to midship for many of the activities. The room was VERY quiet. I did not like the bed, pillows given were mushy - but my husband was fine with both so I think that it is personal preference. These rooms require you to put your room card in the door to have the lights light. I hope this information helps.

We rented a car and drove to Peggy's Cove - well worth the ride.

New York (Brooklyn, Red Hook)

Best check-in EVER. Very fast.
