Viking's attention to detail was much more than expected from the flight arrangements to Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport to the return trip to Boston. The airport and hotel transfers, ship check-in, excursions, accommodations (both hotel and ship board), meals and service were extraordinary. Despite lots of cool and damp weather we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Returning to the ship each day following excursions we were met by staff with refreshments and even warm, moist towels to clean and refresh. Meals were well prepared, tasty and the food was plentiful. The staff was courteous, informative and the service was excellent. The Vidar was modern, comfortable and clean. Veranda room was spacious with lots of storage for clothing and luggage. We enjoyed our veranda each night as we sailed the Rhine and traversed the locks. I would recommend this cruise and would like to do it again in the reverse direction from Basel to Amsterdam.

Spacious, plenty of storage, clean, & quiet. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Room temperature easily adjusted.
