My Daughter had always wanted to go on a Disney cruise and although we had cruised before on Carnival and loved it, I decided to take the plunge and take her on a Disney Cruise. The Disney Dream was beautiful, but I honestly cannot say I liked it any more than we do Carnival. The service in our opinion was not as good as we have experienced on Carnival, other than the dining staff which was awesome!
For the price (roughly 3 times as much) I was expecting to be wowed and just didn't feel it. Yes, if you have young kids, it is probably worth it for them to have the character experiences, but for a teenager, not so much. We love Disney and go and stay at one of the resorts for a week at least every other year, but sorry to say this Disney experience just didn't thrill us.
Seas were rough, which I know is no fault of the cruise, but still put a damper on the trip. Even in the dining rooms and theaters which are down on the lower decks, the movement was quite obvious and it was difficult to walk. All 3 of our excursions were cancelled, one, after we had waited a half hour for it to start, and yes we did not get charged, but was too late to book anything else. Pretty disappointing to say the least.
Cabin was nice and roomy. Liked the split bathrooms. Location was good and very conveniently located.
both excursions were cancelled. Island was nice and lunch average.
Excursion cancelled and just walked around the town for awhile while getting haggled by hundreds of people.
Port was nice and boarding went pretty smoothly.
