My wife and I cruise to relax, and in this room we were awakened every night several times. First, we heard carts on the floor above us at all hours. But worse was that the wall between this cabin and the connecting cabin next door did not reach the ceiling! We heard EVERYTHING happening in their room, all night and day. So when the "pounding" stopped, it was easy to compensate our neighbors for the show by transferring dollar bills directly to them, by sliding the through the slot above this wall. So convenient. There was also the creaky sounds that old ships make, but that was understandable, and the least of our noise issues.

I like smaller ships, and I like old ships. What I don't like is that while in port, they don't clean the outside of the dining room windows. So throughout this cruise, if you wanted to look at the water while you ate, you had to squint to get past the water splotches and dirt or whatever gets on the outside of these windows. Age can be an excuse for some things, but not cleaning the windows has nothing to do with the age of the ship.

We tried the buffet once, and ate the rest of our meals in the main dining room. The dishes we had in the main dining room were actually great, but they were not on the menu (we are vegetarians and no onions/garlic). But the head waiter and our main server were excellent, and they took good care of us.
