This was our seventh cruise on the independence, our second this year, and having previously experienced and registered our many complaints about the deterioration in the standard of food in the main dining rooms, we were shocked to find nothing had been done to improve this. Other passengers were also very critical. We spoke to the Executive Chef in June and are very disappointed that nothing has changed. Do RCI really care?.

We also found the on deck service to be painfully slow, the result of further staff cuts, and it really is time that Royal Caribbean insisted on standards of dress in the dining rooms.

On the plus side we found the staff were , as always, extremely courteous and helpful and some, not all, of the entertainment well worth support. Embarking and disembarking from Southampton was slick.
