We had done this in reverse in April 2015, had a great time then, expected the same. Although this was a nice cruise, it definitely was not stellar. Embarkation was smooth, as was disembarkation, but several things were not.

The ship had been in dry dock for a spell, so expected all to be working well,. The TV's did not work on over half the cabins for many days, and the phones also were not working. A safety hazard, as most of the cruisers were seniors, and if an emergency had happened, being without a phone was, in the least, dangerous. They did have wifi, a new benefit, which may have contributed to these two issues.

I have always been an exponent of, it's only as good as you make it. If you want good, it'll be good, if you want it poor, it will be. As much as we wanted this to be good, it just didn't work.

Cabin BD

The cabin was kept tidy by the steward. He was always smiling and easy to work with. We had hoped for a fresher feel to the cabins, after two weeks in dry dock, but they were about the same, nothing new.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Rome was beautiful. The history breathtaking.

Toulon

So quaint, so clean, so nice.
