My wife and I have previously been on Allure of the Seas, and very much enjoyed that, so we decided to try it's sister ship. We also like the fact that there are many different things to do and see. We enjoyed this cruise and the service was all good. We did not do any of the specialty dining options, as we did not find anything too interesting on the menus. We ate in the main dining room on 3 of the 7 nights. The food was just okay there. I thought that the "aged" NY strip tasted and appeared like a TV dinner Salisbury steak.

The ports were all very good and very enjoyable, even in the rain for a few of them. I would definitely go back to all 3 ports (Nassau, St Thomas, and St Maarten.) The entertainment on board was definitely superior. The Oasis of Dreams show was excellent, "Come Fly With Me" was incredibly good, minus a few singing issues, but it was only the cast's second time performing in front of a crowd. CATS was just okay - my Wife and I are not into musicals too much, but we went and watched the show. We could not really understand too much of what the cast/singers were saying and did not understand the story line. The costumes and such were good though. We left during the intermission and did not come back for the second half (show is 2 1/2 hours long).

The main issue we had with the cruise was that we each purchased the soft drink package, and found that the 6 total Coke Freestyle machines that they have on board either did not work, were always out of certain flavors, or were flat about 90% of the time. There are 4 in the Windjammer Café, and one morning for breakfast 2 of them were out of order on one side, and they had the other side of the restaurant closed, so nobody was able to use them. On 2 separate occasions, the 2 machines that are next to Sorrento's were flat and out of carbonation/soda water. This was a constant issue during the entire 7 days. We wanted certain flavors of soda - not the Coke/Diet Coke/Sprite options that were offered in the bar areas. We all also wish that they would install more Coke Freestyle machines throughout the ship. The ones that they do have are on deck 5 or deck 16 (Windjammer). There is none in between. They should install more, at least one on every other deck by the elevators or at least 1 on every floor somewhere.

Cabin Review

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

The cabin itself was fine. It was neat and orderly. Nothing was out of place, however we had several issues with the TV, as well as our stateroom phone. The TV eventually started to work after telling customer service once and our stateroom attendant once that it was not working. The stateroom phone on the other hand is a different story. We were clear to enter our rooms at 1:00 PM, and we went in to check everything out and leave our items in there. We found that when we went to use the phone to call customer service about the TV, it didn't work. We notified our stateroom attendant about it at that time. We went out to walk around the ship and for the sail-away. We returned about 5:00PM and the phone was still not working. We called guest services from our neighbor's stateroom phone. We checked again later that night and it was still not working. After 5 calls to guest services/maintenance the phone was finally repaired on the evening of day 3. This was a huge issue to us, number one it's a safety issue. Number two my wife has medical conditions that could at any time need attention. Number three - we were cruising with my wife's parents and it was their first cruise. We were trying to stay in communication with them and help them around, and this hampered those efforts.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

The boarding process was very efficient and the port area was very clean.
