Some quick observations re: our Regal Princess Canada/NE cruise last week.

Airport transfers: We purchased transfers to and from LaGuardia. A previous passenger from the cruise ship who was dropped at the airport accidentally left one of her bags on the bus. After we had all loaded onto the bus, the bus driver announced he was waiting for the person to come get their bag before he left. Apparently, he couldn’t hand it to one of the Princess reps there at the airport (security??). He also elected not to hand it to a security guard…not sure why. We were all OK with waiting a few minutes for the bag claimant to arrive but when it stretched to 30 minutes of sitting on that bus, we had a revolt and we insisted inconveniencing 58 people for one person was enough. As a result, we arrived at the terminal much later than need be…and the lines that had formed for check-in were horrendous.

Check-in: Princess needs to figure out a better process. Hand out the health forms on the bus for one. Then we at least could have gotten right in line. And, how are older, less agile folks supposed to endure those serpentine endless lines? You can’t have a room with chairs and call out numbers? There’s gotta be a better way.
