We chose this cruise in order to see some fall foliage and we were not disappointed. The trees were in full color, the weather was terrific and the cruise was fabulous. We embarked in Baltimore, quickly with no problems, had a show by the Blue Angels, who were in town to dedicate a ship or museum, and started on a grand vacation.

Although a small ship, the Grandeur is immaculate, the staff are friendly and always helpful. Our JS on the 8th floor was the usual room and a half. Large bathroom(comparatively) with tub. The storage in the room was WONDERFUL!! and our steward was attentive. The shows were surprisingly good: comedians and singers were top notch. The 70's Inferno dance party is always a blast. We ate breakfast and supper in the Great Gatsby dining room. Outstanding service. I always have my waiter order for me because they know what has received good reviews. Never disappointed.

We were disappointed in the Windjammer buffet. The food was not as good as the dining room. Like usual, it was always a madhouse with people walking in to each other, etc. We tried to frequent the dining rooms and the Park Cafe, at the Solarium Ports: Boston - always delightful; Portland- such nice people; Bar Harbor- rented a car and drove to Acadia Nat'l Park. Great Idea!!; St John= spent 3 hours in the Nat'l museum on the 1st floor of the Market; Halifax - lovely walking in the gardens, visits to St Paul's and the Basilica. In every port, whenever we needed help, everyone was willing to aid us. We will definitely return to New England, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

Located in the front of the ship and under the spa. Generally quiet all the time. We had some trouble with the HVAC but it was quickly remedied. Bathroom has a tub. There's plenty of storage space, however, the suitcases did not fit under the bed. It is quite low. We put them against the wall behind the chairs. Had 2 chairs. a sofa and ottoman. Large veranda with 2 chairs and table. We were happy with our cabin.

Port Reviews

Baltimore

NO traffic from the airport to the terminal. Amazing!

Boston

Boston has so much to do that you don't need to take an excursion. We hopped a bus and went to the north end. Ate, wandered, drank, wandered. Such a friendly city. Can't wait to return

Portland (Maine)

Took the Portland Discovery bus on a tour around town and to the lighthouse. Our guide was Tom, good, but sometimes he spoke too fast for us to understand him. The weather was wonderful and we sat outside to eat the required lobster roll.

Bar Harbor

We rented a car from Enterprise. They picked us up at the port, drove to the airport to pick up the car and when we returned it, they delivered us to the port. Spent the entire day at Acadia Nat'l Park. Such a wonderful park.

Saint John (New Brunswick)

There is a museum on the 1st level of the Market. It is top notch. We spent 3 hours there and did not even see the 3rd floor. Highly recommended.

Halifax

We love the gardens and the architecture in Halifax.
