Our first time on Carnival exceed our expectations by miles or should I say knots ; )Not only was it our first time on this line but our first time traveling with an our infant grand daughter and her parents and in laws, We had no idea how she would handle it. Well, she loved it! She went to the dining room every night and was the hit of the room. One thing we did was choose Your Choice Dining, not knowing if Cerys, that is her name, would be on her normal schedule or not. We should have stayed with our original selection of the early seating. Having just started the anytime dining, they were not prepared for larger parties as we were a party of seven and there are very few large tables. Another down side is we found a dining room waiter and his team, Tom,  that we really liked on the first night and could rarely be seated in their section unless we were in line at 5:30pm. Although we were not seated in his section, a young man named Vedad, an assistant waiter, came by on the first night and every evening after that to say hello and make Cerys smile. He was so sweet. If you are traveling with a baby, you must look for him and tell him baby Cerys says hi! His girlfriend works in the camp for kids, he must get his way with the children from her.The food in the dining room was amazing and David's was one of the best meals we have had anywhere. You must go at least once. We have traveled on many lines and recently was on Celebrity which is often mentioned as having the best food. We thought Carnival was as good if not better, on some nights. Our cabin was very comfortable on the back of the ship. Downside of being there is it seems to be the storage hallway for housekeeping. There was always carts of linen or other room amenities outside our door. Our steward Jose was great, very accommodating and seemed to know our schedule so he could refresh our cabin in an instant. Our favorite towel animal was the monkey hanging from the ceiling!Shows were great in the Taj Theater. Casino larger than any other and I even won a few dollars. Karaoke was a big hit late at night. 24 hour self serve ice cream is reason enough for going on the Pride but the food, service and accommodations make it a must. One more comment, regarding the decor, it takes a bit getting used to, however it does grow on you and kids love the glass elevators..A negative was the embarkation and debarkation. Baltimore definitely needs much improvement in getting people on and off the ship.
