This was a great Panama Canal cruise. The itinerary was interesting and varied with just the right number of sea days. Staff was excellent, entertainment was varied and fun. Our only problem was our room placement. Our problem, not NCL's. Cabin 5052 was right under the Magnum's Champaign Bar with Jazz music until midnight every night. So double-check your cabin placement if this would bother you. Otherwise, we had a great time!

Our excursions though the ship were:

Discover Costa Rica. Long drive, big bus, very narrow roads. Make sure you take snacks, if you get hungry before 1:00. Saw a volcano spewing smoke. Very cool. Nice lunch at the coffee plantation. Don't buy the coffee there; get the discount card and order it online. It will ship to your house, so your don't have to carry it Very much worth the money to go through the ship. It's a Very long drive anywhere away from the port.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Oceanview Picture Window

Cabin OB

Problem was it's location under an entertainment venue that had VERY loud Jazz music every night until midnight. We chose the room, so we should have checked the location. Otherwise the room was wonderful, perfectly placed in mid-ship. Marcos was an excellent steward. Next time on this class ship we will take a cabin on deck 8 or above.

Port Reviews

Los Angeles

Stayed in a hotel near Long Beach airport. Next time will stay near port. Avoids traffic.

Cabo San Lucas

Nice port to just walk around. Can get an off-ship excursion easily

Puerto Vallarta

Have been here many times. Walmart across from cruise terminal. Take a taxi for $4 or walk. Buy a coffee at the coffee bar for free wifi. You will see all the cruise members there.

Huatulco

Easy walking port, good shopping. Nice beach right off the ship.

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

UNESCO site. Take a ship tour. Very long drive, 1 1/2 hours from ship. Take small bills (not $20's) for street vendors. They are pushy, but negotiate hard for everything. Lots of people went to Wendy's where they were overcharged. Know your exchange rate and prices before buying anything there. Good restroom though.
