Sail Date: Oct 2016

We sailed out of Boston, our hometown, with 2 other couples for a fun week of vacation - the first time cruising for 4 of us, all in our early 30's looking to have a good time. The ship venue is very nice (a remodel took place in 2016 apparently) though it is a bit awkward to get from the main promenade to the other parts of the ship, lots of weaving through the stateroom hallways figuring out where to go and referring to signs, which are usually present and helpful at least. The staff is very friendly, we only came in contact with one employee that we found abrasvise, so we nicknamed him and had fun with it for the rest of the trip. Find your favorites and stick with them, otherwise we found service in the restaurants to be sub-par.

Unfortunately we caught the week of hurricane weather. So, if you are lucky to have the normal schedule of 3 days in Bermuda, the ship will be big enough to keep you occupied. All of our onshore excursions were cancelled because of the high winds, but that was not NCLD's fault (just a big big bummer) we had to leave port a day early and were stuck on the ship an extra day, which caused us to get a bit stir crazy by the 6th day. And because of that (I assume) they were running out of a lot of things by the 6th day which was very annoying :-{ My husband and I had a balcony room, which was roomy enough for the entire week, 1 outlet, had a pull out couch for a 3rd person if needed, a TV with a few cable stations and plenty of closet storage for both of us. Unfortunately we were not impressed with the food. The Cafe is just okay, so is the new "sports bar", the Asian restaurant & American fare restaurant Aqua. For complimentary food we stuck to the Venetian, which was very nice aesthetically, had good service 2/3 nights we attended and better food. There are more upgrade restaurants to choose from, which require reservations ahead of time (as in before you board the ship). The top deck bars close way too early, as do the pool and hot tubs, that was disappointing.

Our Steward was awesome, he had fun towel animals for us everynight we selected turn down :) It was clean and kept very well. The mattresses may have just been replaced, hard as rocks! My Husband liked it at first, but by the end of the week we both had a sore back.
