Sail Date: Oct 2016

Enjoyed bora bora in an overwater bungalow before embarking on the October 8th sailing of the Paul Gauguin

In general, beautiful islands with wonderful people! However weather was hotter than we expected. Hotter than Hawaii and any Caribbean island we have visited. Phone app reported 85f temps, feeling like 95f. Believe it!

Embarkation started at 3pm promptly. No evidence of anything earlier. Very smooth and quick process. There are pearl stores and shopping close to the port IF you have someone to watch your luggage. We arrived at 2:45 and crew took our luggage promptly but not sure how early this starts.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony c

Aft cabin which was larger than most. Highly recommend this cabin. No bathtub but nice 2.5 by 5ft shower. Noise from lounge above room was never a problem. Noise from la verandah was only noticeable on balcony in the morning. No noise in cabin. Too hot to leave doors open. Moderate motion during the first nite but our friends midship reported the same. In general, more motion on the ship than we expected given the calm seas. But our cabin did not seem to have more motion than others based on discussion. Balcony was twice as big as other cabins, many storage shelves but no drawers.
