We researched several different cruise lines and spoke with many seasoned cruisers before booking our trip on the Escape - and all of that research was well worth it. From the moment we stepped into the cruise terminal until the day we stepped off the boat back in Miami, we had an amazing experience. Embarkation and disembarkation were extremely smooth. Upon return to Miami, we were off the boat in less than 20 minutes. The ship is spotless, the crew does a great job. We had a mini suite (14230) and the room never seemed too small. The bathroom was surprisingly large and the double sink was great when we were both getting ready to leave the cabin. Our steward, Alfie, really put in the extra effort in keeping our room tidy and the towel animals were a fun surprise every night. The complimentary dining areas were good, not great, but I have no complaints on the food. The Garden Cafe (buffet) was crowded for breakfast and lunch, but it was never difficult to find a seat. We had the drink and dining package and ate at Moderno, Teppenyaki, La Cucina and Le Bistro - all of which were excellent. We also ate lunch twice at Food Republic - hands down best food on the ship and well worth the extra cost. My only con was the entertainment. The shows were more of a community theater production than Broadway - but the cast members put their hearts into the performances. Service all around was top notch - make sure to visit the Chocolate Cowboy at the 5 O'Clock Somewhere bar on the Waterfront.

  • Miami
We drove into Miami on Saturday morning so did not really get to experience the city.

Not a fan. Found the private beaches dirty and the "vendors" on the beaches extremely aggressive. We sat for 10 minutes and were approached at least 7 times. Impossible to relax. Tried Junkanoo first and then took a cab to Cabbage beach which wasn't any better. Thank God we found The Bearded Clam bar and spent the remainder of the afternoon there with some very lovely people. Went back to the ship early. If possible, in the future I will avoid any cruises that stop in Nassau.

Tammy the SNUBA instructor was very patient!! A little scary if you have no experience with scuba diving but a great experience. Coki beach was beautiful.

Tortola is beautiful! Chartered a catamaran with Gary from Kuralu. Highly recommend. Sailed out to Jost Van Dyke and spent a few hours on the beautiful shore sipping PainKillers from the Soggy Dollar Bar and swimming in the crystal blue water. Best port stop and best day of the entire trip.
