Just returned yesterday from our first cruise on the Triumph.  After reading some reviews we were a little worried, especially since we were taking our best friends who had never cruised before.  After spending 7 days on that ship I am amazed that there are so many people who found so much wrong - maybe there is just no pleasing some.  We had a great time.We live in central Fla so we drove to Miami.  Luggage drop off and parking were easy.  Check-in took a lot longer than usual that day - we were told they were having computer problems.  By the time we got on the ship our staterooms were ready.  We got a great deal on Balcony cabins on the Lido deck.  They were fabulous.  We thought the rooms were large with more storage space than any other ship we've been on to date.  Our 1st timer friends were very impressed so I was pleased with that.  Our room steward, a beautiful Russian girl named Sonny, was by far the best we've ever had.  Our rooms were spotless every day.  She went over and above to accommodate every request and even gave us her beeper # if we needed something when she wasn't on the floor.  Getting around this particular ship did take some getting used to.  We were assigned to the Paris dining room and it was one of those "can't get there from here" things - the 1st night anyway.  The easiest way was to go to the Promanade deck and down two flights of stairs - not too bad.  Our dining room wait staff, Eka and Niloux (both from Indonesia) were truly awesome.  We waited for nothing.  We were also pleasantly surprised with the food - much better food than on our last two Carnival cruises two years ago.  Again, our friends were very impressed. Our ports of call were Jamaica, Caymans and Belize (instead of Cozumel).  First time for us in all 3 ports so that was nice.  Had a great time in Jamaica.  Did the sky explorer shore excursion up to the top of Mystic Mountain.  Very relaxing and beautiful views - highly recommend.  Then we did some shopping at the Taj Mahal center.  My girlfriend and I got beautiful jewerly there at very good prices.  Had a great time.  We did not book an excursion in the Caymans.  Just had a fun day shopping around.  Beautiful place, very clean, no one hasseling you for anything.  Would go back there again.  Belize - we have always wanted to go there and having now been there would not want to go back again.  We took the River Wallace/Altun Ha Myan Ruins shore excursion (one we've been looking forward to) and it was the pitts.  The ride down the river was very nice, but way too long.  Then we got dumped at a local, small resort with a few vendors and a small restaurant.  We were there for over an hour and a half just sitting around waiting for the bus to take us to the ruins.  By the time we got to the ruins (which were fabulous by the way) we only had one hour there then an hour and a half bus ride back to the tender for which we arrived an hour late.  Belize City is dirty and depressing - would not care to go back there again.  But we loved the ruins and were glad we got to see them.I would have to think hard to come up with any major complaints about this ship or the cruise.  Since I have daily access to a pool, sitting around the pool deck is no big deal.  Which was a good thing on this ship as it's very cut up and very small which made it VERY crowded - ship was completely full.  Only other complaint would be that they do not enforce any kind of dress code in the buffett dining room.  We only ate in there a couple of times for breakfast or lunch but I don't think anyone should be allowed in there to eat in just a bathing suit - no t-shirts or cover ups.  A little too casual for me.The food was pretty good tho - especially the deli sandwiches, don't miss out on those.Overall, this was a great cruise.  I would not hesitate to go on the Triumph again some time.  Ship was the cleanest one we have ever been on (this was our 7th cruise) and the service was outstanding.  If you're thinking about booking the Triumph, do so.  I for one don't think you will be disappointed.
