Recently returned from our first ever cruise on MSC Preziosa and very happy to report a pretty good experience made even better by good weather and a flat calm sea.
The ship itself is impressive but with a feeling of always being lost.
The customer facing crew are to be commended, yes some will have an off day and be grumpy but we found them to be extremely pleasant, friendly and if appropriate chatty. We formed a great relationship with our Cabin Steward and our dinner Waiters.
Absolutely adequate, very comfortable, sufficient space and always kept spotless by cabin staff
As it was a Sunday the train was very erratic so we opted for a taxi tour with 6 other people who did not speak English and what we were assured was an English speaking driver - he didnt speak a word of English - took 1 hour to get to Rome - cost 50€ for us both which was reasonable. He took us to the appropriate sites. I found Rome very disappointing and the number of beggars staggering, all having apparently the same symptoms - highly bent, gammy leg and very shakey stick.
Took a city tour bus which was perfectly adequate although the queue to get on the bus was approximately 1 hour long.
Took the Hop-on, Hop-off bus with a recommendation to visit a particular street market that we had trouble finding and sorry we did. To me Palermo is a permanent traffic jam.
