I wanted a cruise through the mediterrean and black sea. A friend recommended Holland America. The price was not bad on vacationstogo.com.

Everything was great. The entertainment started to repeat after three weeks. Four weeks was really almost too long a cruise. The entertainers would be out in the public areas and converse with guests. We missed two ports because of the Serbian Refugee Crisis was so close by in Izmir. If we passed a tiny vessel with people who needed help, we would have to take them aboard. Some families rented rafts and threw their children overboard to get ships to stop for them.

The Prinsendam is a very small ship not built by Holland America. Older people love it because there are very few children to run up and down the hallways.

I was traveling by myself and booked late and got a great price. The room was quiet except I was just forward of the engine, so there was a little noise but I got earplugs after 2 weeks.

Everyone was raving about the walk-in closets. Since I had never taken a nice cruise, I didn't know any different. There were also drawers under the beds.
