We booked an aft cabin with an extended balcony, 7444, and our room seemed comparable to aft cabins on the Freedom and the Conquest. The cruise was really nice overall, just what we needed to relax and unwind in the Caribbean. We had a few complaints, but nothing major:
1. There was an odd, sewage-like odor in the back of the ship. It would come and go, and occasionally you would smell it near the front of the ship as well. It pretty much went away by the end of the cruise.
2. The Lido Deck food was a bit hit and miss this time around. Some of the choices were quite good; others, not as much. One port day they closed the lines before 3:00 p.m., leaving only the Tandoor, the Deli, and the pizza bar open for later lunches.
I really like the aft cabins. The balconies are large enough for a few people to hang out on, and the views are usually really nice. Our room was nicely sized and we had plenty of storage space. Carnival should get on board with charging ports for phones and devices, and the rooms could certainly use more electrical outlets. Otherwise, I would book this room again.
The zip line excursion was a great way to start off the day in Grand Turk. It was short compared to the zip line in Ocho Rios, but still enjoyable. It provided great views of the island. Afterward we enjoyed some time at Margaritaville and swimming in the beautiful ocean near the port.
We mostly walked around the shopping district near the port. We ate at Tiajuana's and did a bit of shopping. Previously we toured the fort; next time we may do another walking tour.
The mini speed boats are a blast. It would be nice to have more time on them, though. We also went snorkeling near a reef and a shipwreck, which was not bad; I GoPro'd some fish and things near the coral.
