Carnival seems to have removed the extras that makes cruising special on this ship. Things like white table clothe dining and service every night (now only offered on elegant nights). The quality of the food really disappointed me as I have sailed the Legend and Dream and the food on those ships were excellent. But it looks like they went for the lower quality and tried to mask it with sauces that did not help. They gave the option to have your room clean in the morning or evening not both ( so no more turn down service with the little chocolate on your pillow, no robes were in the room we had to request it. We bought a spa package to enjoy the mineral bath, steam rooms etc out of 8 days they only had water in the relaxation room twice all the other times we had to tell them that they were out (who was watching they came in and out of that room to get people who had booked services) the rain showers were out of order and never fixed while we were cruising, the hot bed room had club music playing instead of spa music again who was watching?

The captain never said a word until the day before we returned home, this means we never got the speed, which islands we were passing, what the weather would be when we get to our visiting ports, all the fun things that we got from the other captains on past cruises gone! The cruise director was nothing special, she came across like that time share sales person through out the entire 8 days 90% of things she announced cost $$ it was all about the bottom line. I felt like this cruise took away from my relaxation because I was always turning down someone trying to sell me spa services, drinks or pictures. I don't blame them because I know that this was a tone set by corporate, sell sell sell. As a former travel agent who still helps former clients, family and friends (because they never stop calling for advice), I will never recommend this ship. I am planning to take one more cruise on Carnival next year and if this is the New Carnival experience across the lines then I will sign off of Carnival for good. The Port experiences saved this trip for my husband and me. We stopped in San Juan, St Kitts, St Martin and Grand Turks, we enjoyed the island food 100% more the the ship's food and truly loved, loved, loved these islands people, tours and food.

Carnival set the expectation and then missed it Corporate should think this through before they roll this out if that is the plan, Corporate DON'T DO IT!!
