This is my 4th cruise with Carnival and 1st on the Glory. The cruise was GREAT from top to bottom. After reading negative reviews on cruisecritic, I was a bit worried. All the negative reviews were wrong and here is why:Embarkation:Easiest of all cruises. We literally just walked right on, no waiting. It was incredible.Ship:Was nice and beautiful from top to bottom. Has a nautical theme with boat designs all over. Uses many colors throughout the ship. Very colorful.SHIP FACT:At the end of every cruise, everyone completes surveys based on how well they liked each area of the cruise. Carnival takes each ships surveys at the end of they year and ranks the boats from best to worst (which you cannot find anywhere on carnival.com) The top ship is awarded THE GOLDEN EAGLE. Carnival Glory was just awarded the Golden Eagle for the 2nd year in a row (announced on cruise). The trophy is on the ship for pictures. Food:The food was great! There were like 11 different places to eat each day. The choices were 2 main buffets, hamburger line, oriental, fresh fish, deli, sushi bar, main dining room, room service etc... The main dining room food was absoletly wonderful. (our last cruise wasnt good but this one was great)Staff:All the staff members went out of their way to ensure you had a great time. They would even stop and have small talk with you just like they were your best friends. Everyone calls you by your 1st name and everyone works really hard and it shows!Staterooms:We had an inside stateroom. Small but nice. We only use it for sleeping at night so we didnt need anything bigger. Even though it was small, it was nice!Ports of CallNassau: Only there for 5 hours so we went to catamaran snorkle. Snorkling in nassau is a waste because the water isnt as clear as most other carribean islands. The catamaran staff worked hard to ensure everyone had a good time. It was fun even though the snorkling wasnt great.St Thomas: I've been there before so we decided to go to Megans Bay. We didnt choose the carnival excursion bc it was $33/person. The taxis take you right to it for $8/person. Dont worry about not going through carnival because there are masses of cruises who do this and they shuttle you to the beach like 15 people at a time. They even stop at drakes seat for picures. We also did the Paradise Ride to the top of the mountain for pictures. It was nice as its a great view. There is a bar on the top of the mountain and they even have a parrot show twice a day. You have to see it too. They cost was $25 through carnival. You can walk up the windy road to it for free. We walked down it for the exercise and its steep. St Martin:We did the french beach break through carnival. The best excursion ever and worth the money! They charter you to Orient Beach, where everyone else goes. BEAUTIFUL BEACH!!! The only people in that section of the beach are just the people who bought the tour. They give you all the rum punch you want. They even provide extra rum bottles on the bar to spike up your drink if the punch isnt strong enough. Its free too. Lunch is provided and the Ribs are the best ribs I've ever eaten in my life! I totally recommend this!!!!!Debarkation:Very Very easy. We were supposed to be back in port canaveral at 8am. We arrived early around 7am. They call your room levels when its your turn to leave the boat. We did the self assist and walked right off the boat and was on the bus to the airport by 8am.Entertainment:The shows were great. Every show was great and the cruise director did a great job as well! Ship Recreation:The gym was just like the gyms on the other ships. It was nice. The ship has a 9 hole putt putt course which is the nicest Ive seen so farThe ship even has a volleyball and basketball court up by the outdoor track too.Overall this ship was AWESOME and I would go back in a heart beat! Please dont listen to any negative reviews bc they are just picking to complain. The ship won the GOLDEN EAGLE AWARD, proving its the top ship in the fleet beating all others.
