Disappointing

This was the third holiday we have had with Scenic and overall it was the most disappointing. Whilst the Scenic Diamond was to the usual high standard and the crew helpful and accommodating we were happy to disembark. We felt that Scenic had misrepresented what we could expect. The river was dirty and muddy and there was little or no scenery along the banks.

Our main complaint was the low standard of off ship experiences. Almost every destination involved a coach trip of 60 to 90 minutes each way and with the exception of two or three destinations they were not worthy of the long journey.

The ship spent the majority of its time berthed in Bordeaux and on almost every occasion had another ship berthed alongside which either blocked our view and restricted the use of the balcony or resulted in us having to climb through the reception area of the other ship to reach land.

One complaint about the staff was that the waiters appeared to have no knowledge of the Responsible Service of Alcohol policy and continued to ply clearly intoxicated persons with further alcohol.

Scenic did not live up to its usually high reputation on this occasion.
