Sail Date: Sep 2016
Cabin: Concierge Class 2

We chose this cruise for the itinerary and it did not repeat ports that we have been to on other cruises in Europe. Although we do prefer Solstice class ships, the Constellation was a ship we had not been on since our Scandinavian cruise in 2013. We arrived by air early in the morning the day before the ship was to leave which gave us some extra time in Venice before we sailed.

Since we booked Concierge class embarkation was very swift and we were on the ship within minutes after entering the Terminal. However, upon entering the terminal there were staff selling beverage packages or upgrading packages which was something we had never seen before.

The ship itself seemed do have had facelift since we were last on, which it was badly in need of. Our stateroom and verandah seemed clean and spacious enough with lots of closet and cupboard space. We did find a few small changes in the Concierge class level since we had the same level on the Silhouette a few years back. The three Granny Smith apples on a dish, to us, did not constitute a fruit basket and looked as though they were there for decor purposes. As well, the canapès were not canapès, but dips. crackers and olives. It was kind of disappointing. However, our room steward did switch out the sparkling white wine for a red wine which we were very appreciative. There was one day in which dirty dishes were left until the evening from the day before which I'm sure was an oversight.

Port Reviews

Venice

We arrived a day early, stayed in a hotel and toured Venice on our own. An amazing city with lots to see and do. Food is the best I've had in Italy.

Dubrovnik

We walked in from the port to the Old Town. It is truly a jewel in the Adriatic. The fortress walls were just magnificent.

Malta (Valletta)

Quaint fishing village with many colourful boats. Typical old Malta.

Malta (Valletta)

Walked through the town with varied historic places.

Zadar

Small typical European town with many Roman buildings.

Split

Excellent walking tour of this ancient town.
