We were excited when Liberty came to Galveston as we now live nearby. We took the maiden voyage on her in 2007 which was great. We were dedicated RCI people as our very first cruise was on Explorer in 2006. The first is always the best. We cruised on Oasis too which was great. Last cruise was Dec 2015 on Liberty. It was far from what we expected from RCI. Our room and bathroom were dirty and had to be cleaned. There was spilled coke or something on vanity and a night stand in room and the medicine cabinet in bath had not been cleaned. The shower gurgled all the time and our room attendant was plunging the toilet when we came in and surprised him but he was quick to tell us there was no problem. We had not summoned him. Bed was lumpy and not very comfortable. In hindsight I wished I had complained but I just did not want to start our cruise off on a negative. Overall, the room just did not seem all that clean.

We thought food was just average, nothing special. My wife and I sat all week at a table for 8 but we were the only ones there. RCI made no attempt to rectify this problem and get us around some people, as that's what we enjoy.

The highlight of the cruise was the entertainment that was quite good. Every time we turned around we heard from staff that the ship was scheduled for a makeover the following month. This needs to be a training issue. People just don't want to hear this after spending their hard earned money. We had a certain level of expectation for RCI which was not met and has diminished our desire to turn to them in the future.

Cabin Review

Promenade Stateroom

Not up to par as far as cleaniness. Did not meet expectations. You book a cruise with an expected trust that you are getting what you are paying for. This did not happen here. This decays your trust with the provider and generalizes to the whole company and all other ships in the fleet.
