We have been on 8 different Carnival Cruise ships, we booked our trip on the Vista a year in advance and were so excited to be on the 7th sailing of this new vessel. Overall, the ship is beautiful and the activities are plentiful. But as frequent Carnival cruisers, we were disappointed at several aspects of the new ship. First and foremost was the Liquid Lounge. The seating is horrible. Carnival removed the fixed bench seating with tables, for these cheap small chairs, no tables, and smaller lounge. Chairs can be moved all over and navigating through the room is hard, impossible if your in a wheelchair. No place to put your drinks, and if you want to sit in the middle of a row, everyone else has to get up to allow you in and out. Like being in a baseball stadium. Made watching the shows less enjoyable.
Second was the dining room. Only had table cloths on formal nights, food was OK, same old choices and more extra add ons $$. Staff was also cut down to two instead of 3 per section.
More choices on this ship for dining and drinks for extra $$. No more chocolates on bed at night, bingo prices are outrageous, the scam pull tabs they sell are ridiculous. The prices for the onboard photos are insanely high. More and more Carnival is finding new ways to extract more $$ from you on board.
We loved the cove balcony, very quiet (other than the slamming doors) and private.
