A Voyage of Discovery
We spent a week on Thomson's latest acquisition to the fleet Discovery on a trip around the Med . Having heard that this ship was a huge step up for Thomson and a sign of things to come (more replacements coming in the next few years) we felt we had to try it out.
We noted that this ship had more than one cruise route and then chose one that took in places we had not previously visited , Mount Etna and Monaco. On arrival at the port we were not disappointed Discovery has imposing looks and just newly painted she looked very good. The passage on board was smooth and without event and very quickly my wife and I were exploring this floating hotel. Being Ex Royal Caribbean and in comparison to Thomson's other ships she looks stunning the central glass atrium being the main attraction. Over the first couple of days we were able to look more closely and experience if Thomson had managed to maintain those things that brought customers back year after year , the friendliness , the entertainment and the food.
Whilst many of the items on board were not good this was the one that stood out it was kept extremely clean by the cabin staff and was of good size and decor. Plenty of storage for a week.
