  • Cabin Type: Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

We fancied this trip for a very long tip because of the routing.

Our cabin 9056 was spacious and nice - not too clean but we've enjoyed it very much.

The water temperaturee was an issue with 43° this has been fixed after over 5 complaints.

Matresses have been worn down - we did received some matress toppers that bettered the situation a bit, but it was still not good.

The ship's layout is great and it'Äs still in pretty good shape after the years. We loved the parties in the forum, the Schooner bar and the colony club. Theater is great, but seats are worn down.

The routing was phantastic, we had a private rental car for Tahiti. Be careful because the Grand Market closes very early,

Moorea we took a day pass at the Intercontinental Hotel (US$ 82 each) which included a phantastic 3 course lunch including drinks. The liunch alone was more expensive than the paid rate and was well woth the money alone. The Infinity pool there is around 100 meters long(!!!) and was our favourite place!

Bora Bora was heaven, we rented a private boat for selfdriving (no license neded) at La Plage - which was the prefect choice. We could anchor in the Lagoon whenever we wanted and have the place for ourselfs. We'd certainly do this again!

New Zealand was interesting and the approach in Sydney was phantastic. Docking next to the Opera House on one side and the Harbour Bridge was a dream!

We enjoyed the entertainment programme very much, our Cruise Director was amazing and we never felt bored. Fellow passengers (mostly Australian and US) where kind and relaxed most of the times.

So far, the trip was almost püerfect, if it wasn't the food!

We are aware that the cuisine for 2200 guests has it's limits and we are certainly not overly picky.

Soups have always been far too salty, meat of questionable consistence, fish always dry and overcooked - choice of vegetables was very small.

Deserts where 90% desaster: Mousses stiff and tasteless, Tiramisu could be perfectly cut like cake, cheesecakes only sweet, puff pastry a joke!

What shined was the chocolate sensation and Sorbets, Curry in the Windjammer Buffet always phantasic!

We've been talking with many passengers about this and all had the same complaint. Even waiters confirmed that this happens all the time but nothing really changes.

That will be the reason for us not to book RCI anymore.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

Moorea

Beautiful island, we highly recommend taking a taxi to the Intercontinental and buy the day pass (US$ 82/person). That inclused a phantasrtic 3-courses junch and drinks that is worth the money alone

Honolulu

We dropped our luggage off at 11:00 in the morning and checkin at 16:00 was swift.

Bora Bora

Heaven! Our advise is to rent a self-drive boat from La Plage and swim in the laguna.
