Thomson “Catalan Promise” 8 day cruise aboard the Thomson Majesty.

Just returned from this cruise. We booked this on an offer price and were very impressed with the whole package, flights, ship, entertainment, drinks package, itinerary, etc.

Booked an outside cabin, deck 3, for a change (we usually have the cheaper, inside cabins) which was nice, with an unobstructed view and kept spotlessly clean by our stewards. The cabins on the Majesty seem to be a bit smaller than is the case with other ships so be aware if you book a standard cabin. We only use the cabin to sleep and change in any event so it didn’t really matter.

Cabin Review

Cabin Outside standard

Cabin 344 (outside, deck 3). Fine, well looked after, clean, comfortable, good ablution facilities, TV, tea and coffee, plenty of storage space. Cabin was a bit smaller than we have previously been used to but we spend most of our waking hours in the public rooms and off board ship so it’s no big deal for us.

Just a thought about booking an outside cabin. I’ve noted that some travellers have complained about obstructed views out of outside cabin windows so it’s worth thinking about which deck you are on when booking an outside cabin. Lifeboats tend to be on the upper decks (deck 8 on the Thomson Majesty) which can obstruct the view, so booking an outside cabin on deck 3, as we did, turned out to be a good option as there was nothing in the way of our view (and it was a bit cheaper). In any event we didn’t spend much time in the cabin but it’s worth considering when booking.
