The cruise was titled "In the Wake of the Vikings" as it followed the Vikings migration and exploration form Norway t North America. There were stops in the Shetland Islands, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, New Foundland and Quebec. This Viking Ocean Cruises has set a new standard of excellence and quality in ocean cruising. This is our third cruise with Viking Ocean (Star Oct 2015; Sea May 2015; and now Star again - our 13th ocean cruise). We love this line so much we have already booked 4 more cruises in 2017 and 2018.

We love the ships, cabins, and common spaces. What makes Viking so special is the staff, crew, and officers. It is clear you have created an environment that fosters teamwork, leadership, and creativity. The enrichment activities with the professors and experts on board truly enhanced the cruise. The band and the stage entertainers were excellent. We had high seas one day and the ship handled it beautifully. The crew and staff handled the situation with caring professionalism. I am sure there were some useful lessons learned that will benefit all the ships in the Viking Ocean line.

Cabin Review

Cabin PV3

Our first time in a Penthouse Veranda cabin. It is wider than an normal veranda cabin which makes it much roomier to move around it also has an extra credenza at the foot of the bed providing 7 more drawers and shelves for shoes. The extra drawer and counter space allowed us to keep the desk/vanity area clear. Free minibar is another nice touch.
