We cruised with Viking the year before in the Bordeaux region which was awesome since we love wines and that it was the trip is about. Wanted to try the Rhone River cruise. Not as many chateaus or wineries but visited lovely little towns. The guides all did a good job. The staff on the ship was very helpful. The captain greeted us every time we came back from an excursion! Celebrated my birthday during this cruise and the staff sang and brought a cake to me during dinner. Did the pre and post trip extensions. Pre trip was in Nice. While in Nice, Viking offered a side trip to Monaco which we did. This trip was outstanding. The hotel was centrally located and close to the water. The post trip to Paris didn't disappoint either. Having done this post trip the year before, we knew what we wanted to see on our second visit. Other than the long flights to get to France, this was a great trip.
