We chose the riverboat cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg ("Romantic Danube") because it enabled us to visit several cities we had not seen before, and because the land tours offered seemed more educational, historical and interesting to us than some of the other Viking land tours. The Viking staff were terrific, and the ship is perfect for riverboat cruises. The ship is modern, clean and efficient. We opted for a cabin with a veranda, and are really glad we did. We enjoyed sitting out on the veranda, and the more spacious feeling the veranda gives the room. We loved the fact that the cruise is almost "all inclusive". We did not have to pay extra for the city tours in each town we visited, nor did we have to pay extra for wine or beer taken with meals. We signed up for optional additional tours most days, and all but one were excellent. Viking does an excellent job.
