Cabin: Balcony Premium

We mainly chose this cruise because it took us from Northern Europe to the Mediterranean. We were very sceptical of cruising with Costa because of the reviews on this site. However the experience couldn't have been better.

Costa Luminosa is a bit smaller than other cruises we have done (MSC) and we enjoyed that. It enabled us to meet more people and make some firm friends who we'll keep in touch with. The only thing lacking was enough pools. On a day at sea you almost had to queue to get a swim!

We had a premium balcony cabin which was large and comfortable. We liked having a seperate sofa to sit on when we were resting, and the balcony was a great place to escape to if we wanted a little peace.

Cabin Review

Balcony Premium

Cabin BP

Cabin was a good size, plenty of storage space. Only downside was that the balcony doors aren't sliding doors so almost impossible to leave them open to enjoy the lovely sea air.

Port Reviews

Stockholm

We did Stockholm on our own pre cruise

Amsterdam

We have been to Amsterdam many times and still find things to do. We walked around enjoying the place, spent time at the Rembrandt museum and sat on a bench with our picnic lunch where we met a lovely gentleman and chatted for over an hour!

Dover

We didn't spend anytime in Dover choosing instead to go to Canterbury. There we saw th cathedral, went for a punt on the river and had a lovely pub lunch.

The shuttle bus to and from the town to the ship was very good.

Lisbon

What a delightful place to just wander around. You can see it's not a place where there is great wealth (monetary) but the streets are beautiful to walk about. We started our walk at Piazza Comercio walking through the town to Piazza Dom Pedro IV. Then we walked up the hill to the Castello S. Jorge. What amazing views! We took so many photos this day as there was so much to see. Definitely have to go back as we missed going up in the old elevator.

Valencia

Took the shuttle bus into town as we have been there before. We mainly just wandered but made sure to see the Mercato Central, Plaza dos Toros, window shop along carrer Colon, and a walk through the park del Turia.
