We cruised aboard the GEM Sept 24 - Oct 1 and we had a fabulous time. We found the crew to be very helpful and the food was great. Now to be fair we were suite passengers in Cabin 15500 so we did get treated very special. The Haven lap pool and lounge area was a great place to relax and get out of the less than desirable weather we had during our trip.
Of the specialty restaurants Cagney's and Moderno were our favorites but our meals at Le Bistro and La Cusina were very good also. We also went to the lunch Murder Mystery second City performance that was a lot of fun.
I was a bit put off by the limitations on the not so Ultimate Beverage package where the limit per drink cost is $15 but they have raised the prices on drinks to the point where many choices on the drink menu cost extra over and above the package? Not sure hwy they feel the need to do this but it's a minor annoyance
This suite is fabulous in every way except for one.
The suite is spacious and it is very well thought out. The bathroom is large and has two sinks, a shower stall, and a bathtub. There are automatic window blinds, a laptop, and a Bose speaker system. The bar area includes a Nespresso machine.
The balcony is huge with a four chair table and two chaise loungers and a "Hot Tub". The Hot tub was my main disappointment with this suite. This tub needed to be drained and filled by NCL staff before each use. This process takes 40 minutes and really does limit your use of this amenity.
Great tour guide and we got to sample many tasty treats along the way in this lovely city
We found the service on the GEM to be excellent in all respects
