We chose Viking Oceans cruise because two previous Viking River cruises and Viking Mediterranean cruise were enjoyable and well-run.

This cruise was no exception and well organized and comfortable. The food and service were superb in all the dining areas. The Viking Star is a magnificent ship. It's beautifully designed and with only 930 passengers. It never felt crowded. Thankfully, there was no casino aboard. The staterooms were spacious and well-appointed. The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The evening entertainment was enjoyable and certainly intended to appeal to 60+ audiences. Port talks were very informative and enrichment. The guest speakers were excellent and very enlightening. Every crew member that we encountered was welcoming, gracious and helpful.

There was a wide variety of port tours on offer. We selected a combination of included and optional ones. All our tours were, without exception, in the very good to excellent category, with the same for the tour guides. We enjoyed exploring on our own. And it was easy to do as Viking provided shuttle buses in ports that were not close to town. We did the extension from Bergen to Oslo with the train journey which was good so as the tour guide.
