We just got back from a 13 day trip to Spain and Portugal on the Celebrity Equinox. We were excited about this trip as it was our first time on the Celebrity line. We were disappointed. The ship was dated. The chairs in the clubs were worn and uncomfortable to sit in. All the bars, except for the ones on the top deck, were closed until 5:00PM. We had a balcony cabin which was small, with horrible, lumpy, beds, a small closet, five small drawers and a broken sink. The food was poor in the Café, with limited selections through out the day, and the main dinning seating area. You did have the option of paying for specialty dining but having tasted the food in the main dining area why would you take the chance of paying for a meal and being disappointed. The entertainment was not that good. The ports of call were interesting and that saved the trip for us. I must say getting off and on the ship was very efficient. There were no long lines that we have had on other ships. Would I sail on another Celebrity ship, probably no.
The cabin was dated and the beds were lumpy and not very comfortable. The bathroom sink was broken. The closets were very small and there were not many drawers. You could use the over head cabinets but that meant that you had to climb on the bed when you wanted anything out of them. Luckily you were able to store the suitcases under the bed.
We did the hop on hop off bus which was very good.
We did a Spain Day Tour which was excellent.
