We had 2 nights pre cruise in Lucerne. Boarded in Basel. Everything was organized and seamless. We expected everything to be very good and we were not disappointed..it was even better than we imagined. The cabin was small as per the plan but everything was there that was needed. Dining was wonderful. If you couldn't find something you liked then you must be impossible to please..first class. The service was also first class. All shore excursions were well planned and most enjoyable. We did the village of Colmar and the 'Taste the Best of Alsace'. Both wonderful! We loved both tours for the things we saw and in Strasbourg, we loved the food tastings, tour with Patricia and the wine and cheese also. I would highly recommend Viking..They take great care with everything. Our ship was Tialfi, only 5 months old at the time, so no complaints about cleanliness or anything..The room steward was a very nice young man who did a great job just as soon as we left our room.
