Our travel agent recommended AMA Waterworld for a first time river cruise. My wife was reluctant to go on the trip but the AmaCerto ship, tours and staff made for a near perfect week on the Rhine.
We were pleased to have a choice of gentle, regular or active tours plus a bicycle option. It made for smaller tour groups compared to some of the 80+ groups from other cruise lines that we passed. The local tour guides were excellent. The few river port and lock issues were handled by AMA with little disruption to the passengers.
Entertainment is not as important on river cruises due to the higher level of tour activities. Frankly, we were too tired for the nighttime entertainment. The food was very good also. The only criticism was the noise level in the main dining room. This is one problem of having most passengers eating at one sitting which cannot be helped. On the plus side, it showed that the passengers were having a good time with their companions.
River cruises are more expensive but the experience was worth it. We would go again.
Very nice size pleasant cabin with French balcony and outside balcony.
