Everything about the cruise was above our expectations. The food in the Windjammer buffet style and Main Dining Room was excellent along with very good staff. Our Ocean View State Room #2544 was more than adequate and we had no complaints at all. Enjoyed the large window in the room.

The itinerary was what sold us on this trip and it didn't disappoint. Anyone who complains about seeing Athens as a large dirty city needs to open their eyes. The Acropolis was beautiful and we spent time in the Platka shopping and eating lunch and still had time to walk to the government building to see the changing of the guards. Dubrovnik was as beautiful as pictures show and the walking the wall gave you a beautiful overview of the city as well as walking through a few of the narrow alleys off the main street. Took the local bus for 3 Eu each way and caught it in the bus station right in front of the ship terminal. We had less line up than those taking the Royal Caribbean transfer for $16 US return. The ship was clean and well maintained. Royal Caribbean did an excellent job getting everyone on and off at each port. For those who were disappointed about not having time in Venice I would suggest that they read the itinerary and plan to stay an extra day before or after to see the city. We arrived a day early and had a wonderful day exploring then took a water bus for 8 Eu each way to St. Marco to have one last walk around and enjoy supper before returning to the ship about 7:30 pm

Cabin Review

Family Ocean View Stateroom

Cabin FO

The cabin had a king size bed and love seat plus a large ocean view window which we looked out of every day and night to see what was happening with weather and scenery. Lots of cupboards and drawers. Loved the sit down vanity to do hair and makeup. The tv worked well and we had enough channels to gather news. A few different types of entertainment channels were also available. I moved the 14" small round table to the end of the couch and it left lots of room to walk around the center of the cabin. The bathroom was adequate for one person at a time and everything was in nice condition. Someone very large might find the shower small but we have a travel trailer and it had more room than we are used to when travelling. The bed was good and the towels, sheets etc. were lovely and clean and soft. I was a little worried about being so low on the ship but we had no noise, and were close enough to the elevator to make it convenient and were at the same end of the ship for the Windjammer buffet restaurant and the Theater so just had to take the elevator straight up. I would recommend this cabin.

Port Reviews

Venice

Went a day early to visit Venice. Stayed at the Arlecchino Hotel which was excellent for location and experience. Nice rooms and great breakfast. Went back to St. Marco by water bus when ship returned to Venice. Don't miss standing on the deck when coming in and out of the port for a view beyond description.

Kusadasi

Only went to Kusadasi because we had already done a 14 day tour of Turkey and been to Ephesus previously. Kusadasi shop owners are very pushy but understandably they are not in a good economic situation. We were told it has been their worst year since the late 80's. I bought sandals in the first plaza and think I may have gotten a better deal had I looked as I found the exact same sandals in all the shops. We ate in a nice restaurant patio called 'Charlies'. We made sure we discussed exactly what we were ordering and the price first. We heard than someone else was presented with a bill a lot more than they were expecting. Could have missed this port but understand that a lot of others wanted to see Ephesus.

Rhodes

Lovely town and beach right at the port where the ship docked. We took our shoes off and walked in the Mediterranean before going back on ship. A good place to buy t-shirts, soap, candy, etc. No pressure from the shop keeps and a nice time after the pressure in Kusadasi.

Dubrovnik

We took the local bus from the terminal in front of the ship. $12 Kuna each way. Bought return tickets. Walked the wall and ate lunch at a nice restaurant on one of the side streets. Would not miss walking the wall. The local bus took us to the same place as the ship transfer bus and we had no problem finding the bus right in front of the entrance to the old town.
