Slightly disappointed in the Crown Princess. This was my first time on this ship but have done 11 other Princess cruises. Choice this itinerary as I wanted to see the Crown and had friends who had booked it. Embarkation was smooth. Arrived at San Pedro Cruise ship terminal at 11:30 am and was aboard by 11:45 am. Dropped bag in cabin and headed to the dining room for lunch. After lunch returned to my inside cabin on Dolphin deck. Was met by my cabin steward who was wonderful. Helped me get down the life jacket and said he would let me leave it on the floor so it would be in reach for me. Was surprised by the two pull down beds. Didn't think Princess would put a solo traveler in that type of cabin. Did end up banging my head and shoulder on them a few times before figuring out how to get in and out of the queen bed. Cabin steward kept cabin clean. Was surprised there was not a tote bag given out.

Choose anytime dining as that was what my friends had and we were going to try to eat together but that did not occur. I eat earlier than they do. Dinners in the dining room on deck 5 were not up to what I have experienced on Princess in the past. Most nights at least one of the courses I ordered was wrong. French fries were always cold. One night could not be served anything dairy as one person who was seated with us had an allergy so no butter, no cheese options. Wish I had been told so I could have asked to be seated elsewhere. Another night after I was seated, the table was filled with a group of 7 non-English speaking passengers. Made for a very boring dinner for this solo traveler. Dress code was posted but not enforced at all. Men were being seated with torn jeans, shorts and even one I saw (and smelled) with dirty, soiled shorts.

Had a wonderful dinner at the Crown Grill with my friends. We all enjoyed our meals. Wanted to eat at the Salty Dog which I had enjoyed on the Ruby. However I was too short to reach the tall tables and stools and on this ship, the staff refused to serve food at the lower tables also in the Wheelhouse Bar.
