Although the Pride is an impressive ship, it was not so impressive in terms of dining and service.  The breakfast buffet was what you would expect.  The lunch buffet was interesting in that it had a different cuisine everyday.  Pizza was awesome.  Cheeseburgers and hot dogs were good too except you had to wait in a very long line to get them.  I found that none of the wait staff was that friendly.  Most would speak if spoken to but none got to know you by name.  This was not the case on the Holland America cruises where they would carry your tray to the table for you and knew you by name by the second day.  The food in the dining room was mediocre to say the least.  'Lobster Night" consisted of a 3 inch long lobster tail with 2 shrimp.  Escargot was excellent.  Shrimp cocktail laughable.  The wait staff in the dining room did not address us by name.  If you asked for more of something or something different, it looked like they were taken aback.  On formal nights, people dressed in jeans and tee shirts were allowed in the dining room.  I thought this was very disrespectful to the passengers who had taken the time and energy to dress formally.  There was an envelope for the maitre d in the cabin to thank him for the "fine" service in the dining room since he is in charge.  I thought that he could have at least come around to the table to introduce himself.  I don't even know what he looked like.  At the Captain's reception, there was no one introducing the passengers to the Captain and no one taking pictures of you with the Captain.  I found this unusual since photographs were being taken all the time.  Out of all the staff on the ship including Captain, crew, wait staff, etc., the only truly friendly and helpful person was our cabin steward.  Watch out for drink prices.  An Absolute Vodka martini at dinner was $13.00.  You could buy a bottle in the ship's liquor store for less. The best part of this cruise was that it left from Baltimore and I didn't have to fly.

Cabin Review

Cabin was below Lido Deck.  Very noisy both day and night with lots of chairs and people moving around.
