I have sailed on Carnival 7 times and this was the first time on the Freedom. The embarkation and debarkation process is pretty smooth on all these cruises. The ship is nice with the exception of a few areas that need some refurbishing. They need to fix the Foosball and Shuffleboard tables as there were pieces either missing or broken. We stayed in cabin 2462 on the Main Deck and it was very large and quiet. Our room steward, Mohammed was great and always had a smile and honored any small request we had. Our dining was originally early in the Posh restaurant but we changed it to late dining in the Chic restaurant because it was very difficult to get to dinner at 6pm, especially after an afternoon excursion or any activities on the ship. The servers, Sukanya, Sergii and Eduardo were absolutely awesome!!! These folks really work hard and I send a big shout out to all of them! The service they provided was efficient and they all seemed to enjoy their jobs.

The entertainment on the ship could be a little better. I was very disappointed in the 70's club where I only heard a few songs from this era on one day. The rest of the time was tejano, rap(too much), and country. Also, please quit giving out the ship on a stick when someone wins a contest. I think a drink or $10 credit would go a long way. Nobody wants a cheap piece of plastic that is peeling off before you leave the ship.

The excursions were okay. We booked the Jolly Roger through Carnival and the guys driving went to a harbor and wasted a lot of time that could have been spent snorkeling or shopping more. We also booked the Cave Tubing which was fun but not through Carnival. The only downside is they ran out of rum punch and did not have enough for everyone on the excursion. There is way too much smoking in the casino and I think it should be prohibited. The Cruise Director, Malcolm was great and did a good job engaging his audience in whatever event they had scheduled. I would book on Carnival again but hope they make some changes in the future.

Cabin 6A

The cabin was great! It was roomy and quiet with no issues. The cabin steward, Mohammed went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of.
